About Palm Oil
Palm trees start bearing fruit 2 1/2 years and have an economic life of up to 25 years. During this time, they will produce bunches of oil palm fruit which are harvested regularly and taken to the oil mills for processing.
The oil palm plantations are strategically located around Lahad Datu where the oil palm fruit can be easily and quickly transported to the oil mills and refinery for processing. However, Kwantas is still looking to increase its landbank as part of the expansion plans to increase the supply of fruit for the production of crude palm oil (CPO).
