Kwantas first ventured into China in year 2000 when it set up a sales and marketing office in Guangzhou. With the growing economy and vast population, Kwantas identified the growing demand for palm oil products and decided to expand their operations to China in year 2002.
Guangzhou was selected as the location for setting up bulking and manufacturing operations which will then supply local and regional manufacturers with raw materials such as palm olein, palm stearin and palm kernel oil.
After Guangzhou, Kwantas set up similar facilities in Zhangjiagang. These two areas were selected as they are the fastest growing economies in China, both with large population growth in the surrounding regions, hence ensuring continued high demand for palm products.
